Emotional intelligence (EI), leadership styles, and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) have gained significant attention from scholars pursuing to understand many facets of EI and leadership and their effects on employee behavior in the workplace. In addition, behavioral science studies on OCB in tourism firms are identified as high value-added that undeniably require consideration. However, both conceptual and empirical studies on these phenomena have been found lacking. This research attempts to fill this gap by developing a conceptual model highlighting the mediating role of leadership on the connection between leaders’ EI and employees’ OCB. Prospective participants will be recruited randomly from employees at tourism enterprises in Vietnam. Quantitative method and structural equation modeling technique will be used to investigate the relationship between EI, leadership, and OCB. The findings from the research can be utilized to offer powerful and scientific implications that help in enhancing leadership effectiveness and fostering higher level of employees’ OCB in tourism firms in Vietnam.
